Curt took a couple days off so we headed to St. Louis for a long family weekend.
We weren't sure how the kids would be at the arch so we didn't go and since Curt and I have been there before it was no big deal to not go this time.
Although we didn't go we drove by it on our way into the city to go to the zoo.
St. Louis has a free zoo and it is AWESOME!
I would say it's one of the best I have been to.
It was so pretty and had so much green landscape all around.
We saw lots of animals.
The kids LOVED it!
Checking out the Rhinos...
Kara liked the elephants...
The penguins...
The hippos were my favorite...
Those things are HUGE!
This one looks like it's smiling!
I love these two cute kiddos of mine...
They get a long so good, most the time!
After the zoo as we were heading to the hotel we past the temple.
We weren't going to stop by that day but we did because Kara wanted to go to the temple.
I love that she LOVES to see the temples and is always wanting to go.
The next day we went to The Magic House, it is part of the Children's Museum.
It was pretty fun...
It had a lot of hands on things for the kids to do.
The had a play court room...
In this part there was this little door in the wall and the kids loved opening the door and looking in.
This is what was inside...
A little mouse at the presidents desk!
There was a hands on construction zone.
The kids played there for a while.
We wanted to take the kids to an aquarium but we just couldn't see paying twenty plus dollars per person so we went to Cabela's instead!
It was AWESOME!
It wasn't busy...
It wasn't hot...
And the kids LOVED it!
Cabela's was the hidden gem!
On our way home we took our time and stopped to check out some of the amish shops around.
It's always fun to have a long get away weekend with the family!
Totally worth the four hour drive!
