We got back from St. Louis on Saturday and then the kids and I turned around and went to Kirtland, Ohio on Monday for two days.
We met up with my best friend from high school, Cammie and her four boys.
With Cammie living in Pennsylvania and me in Indiana Kirtland is a pretty good half way mark.
We went to a little petting zoo/farm.
The kids saw baby cows...
They got to pet the calfs...
They even got to milk a cow.
Ty and Kara petting some sheep...
Checking out the piggy and all her babies...
Hands on kid play area...
Hang on Conner and watch out Josh, Kara's behind the wheel!
Conner doesn't like Kara's driving, he's wanting to bail!
On Tuesday we went and checked out some church sites.
We went to the Kirtland Temple and toured that.
All of us in front of the temple.
The kids...
Kara, Andrew, Ty, Conner, Josh and Clark
After the temple we went to Historic Kirtland.
The kids slept so good that second night!
On Wednesday we left the hotel to head home.
We followed each other out of town to visit one more church site, the John Johnson farm, before we went our separate ways.
On our way home, after the John Johnson farm, the kids and I stopped in Columbus.
We got some dinner and went to the temple grounds to eat it and stretch our legs.
The temple shares a parking lot with a church building and they had a cute little area to eat and run around.
We left the hotel that morning at 11:00 and ended up getting home at 10:00 that night.
It's suppose to only be a six hour drive!
We spent a hour at the John Johnson farm...
spent another hour and a half in Columbus...
and a few pit stops in between.
I wasn't sure we were going to make it home that night or not but that was okay because we were in no big hurry and the kids were being AWESOME!
It was so much fun to see Cammie and her boys and spend a few days with them.
We need to do this every year!
After staying in a hotel four out of seven nights Kara kept saying she wanted to go to the hotel.
I tried telling her that our house is a hotel, Hotel Widdison!
She didn't go for that!

ah! These pics are "home" to me! I loved visiting kirtland while we were living in columbus. So, you were so close to our old house....that church that shares the temple parking lot was our meeting house for a while! How fun! You are awesome for road-tripping with your kids!!
