Labor Day Weekend

On the Saturday of the Labor Day weekend Curt and I went canoeing with my sister Jillyn and her husband Ryan. It was Jillyn and Ryan's first time ever canoeing. They got the hang of how it works towards the end! They did pretty good for their first time! We had a good time and can't wait to take them in the spring when the reservoir is full.

I don't think Jillyn is doing a whole lot with her paddel out of the water!

Maybe Jillyn is taken after her big sister with the paddel thing, opps sorry Ryan!

We paddled back as far as we could go then we walked a little to find a shaded area to eat lunch.

Causey is so pretty anytime of the year and it's so fun to go in the spring when it's full and then in the fall when the water levels are dropping. It's like 2 different reservoirs! In the fall, usually the end of September, you can walk up stream and see the kokanee spawning, but we were too early this last weekend. We did see some kokanee but they weren't going up stream yet.

This was Causey this last weekend, the first of September.

And this is Causey back at the end of June.  It's kind of cray how much the water level dropped a 2 month time period.
